Classes Offered:

Exploring Theatre – Let’s Make it Up!:

  • Grades 1-4
  • Exploring Theatre will be an introduction to theatre and performance course.  Students will explore what it means to perform on stage through music, voice and movement.  Lessons will include activities in improvisation, movement, character development and kinesthetic awareness.  The focus will be on improvisation as students have fun creating their own versions of well-known fairy/folk tales.  No scripts will be used so students don’t have to worry about reading ability.  This is a wonderful class for students to find out just how much fun acting can be!
  • Instructor:             Donald Cleland
  • Classes will meet Mondays and Wednesday, 4:00 to 5:30
  • Cost:                $180.00

Act I

  • Grades 5-12
  • This is the first semester of a three-semester course.  Students will delve into theatre and performance.  Through rigorous and enjoyable learning activities they will explore the five senses, basic stage movement and vocal awareness.  Through improvisational and dialogue scenes this course is an excellent class to begin their journey into becoming competent actors.
  • Instructor:           Peter Stein
  • Classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 to 8:30
  • Cost:            $180.00
  • Please note that the week of Thanksgiving the schedule will be altered for the holiday.  That information will be given the first day of class.

Musical Theatre

  • Grades 5-12
  • Do you like to sing and dance?  This class might be just for you!  Students will explore and study the art of combining acting, singing and movement skills to portray a character in a staged production.  Students will be able to apply what they learn in class directly to any musical production in which they are cast. Students will be taught how to control and utilize their natural speaking and singing voice, how to analyze and develop characters in a production, how to interact with the stage, the audience and other performers and most of all, how to be confident and have fun in musical production.
  • Instructor:            Jacob Mott
  • Classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 to 6:30
  • Cost:              $210.00
    • Please note that the week of Thanksgiving the schedule will be altered for the holiday.  That information will be given the first day of class.
